Serving the community of Portsmouth since 2007

Built in 1884, a masjid since 2007

Portsmouth Muslim Academy was established in 2007. Since then our main Imam, Mufti Liaqat Sahib, has led the Imamat and served the community.

Alhamdulillah, we have daily salah, Jumu'ah and maktab six days a week, with a strong focus on the tarbiyah and Islamic upbringing of our children. Through the year we also hold Taraweeh and iftar, programmes and community events.

The building is a Grade II listed Victorian chapel. Its foundation stone was laid by C. Roberts Esq. on 8 October 1884, and its bell turret, carved arches and leaded windows still face Old Commercial Road.
